Kingdom conference on poverty eradication

Yesterday, the ombudsman institutes of our Kingdom joined forces and organized the very first Kingdom conference ever on the subject of poverty in the Caribbean part of the Kingdom. They wanted to personally with the people of our islands and jointly look for solutions through constructive dialogues. This resulted in concrete solution-oriented action points that every ombudsman will continue to work on. So you will definitely hear more about the progress over time.

A well-attended conference, also via live stream, with inspiring speakers from the various islands and from the Netherlands. And a very engaged audience. Also a lot of attention from the press and from various dignitaries. This subject is dear to everyone who loves the islands. Poverty only seems to be increasing with all its consequences.

I would like to especially thank the Ombudsman of Curaçao, mr. Keursly Concincion the National Ombudsman, mr. Reinier Van Zutphen, the Ombudsman of St Maarten, mr. Gwendolien Mossel and the Ombudsman for Children, prof. dr.mr. Margaret Kalverboer. It was an honor to be the moderator at this first-ever Kingdom Conference. 

And last but not least, I also want to thank Vanessa Abad. Thank you for all your efforts and organizational talent. I really appreciate it.
